HELP RESCUE A RESCUE

A couple of months ago I saw a posting on the Best Friends Network about a rescue that specialized in animals from abusive homes. It is the only safe haven rescue in the state of Tennessee. The posting struck me at my core as a family member had just had an abusive experience. I had offered my black Lab to stay with my family member as an alarm but they said they would not want to risk him getting hurt. This is what Howard (Zeke) Loftin does with Road Home Rescue. He provides a safe haven for pets caught up in abusive situations where they are sometimes used to keep the abusers victims in line. www.roadhomerescue.org

I tried to figure a way I could help Zeke and Road Home get a bit more financial security.

This is what I came up with...

I am donating a week's stay for up to eight people at Orange Lake Resort in Orlando, FL www.orangelake.com/tour_our_resort/two-bedroom_villas.html for a raffle. The raffle is $10 per entry. Remember your donations are tax deductible.

The accommodations are for the week of April 5-12, 2008 and the winner is given a guest certificate and must present it personally at the resort for it to be honored. The resort also requires at least one member of the party to be 21 years old and a $115 security deposit is required at check in. This deposit is refunded based on the condition of the unit at the end of the week. The resort is also completely smoke free.

Three steps to enter the raffle.

1. Go to www.roadhomerescue.org click on "Donate using Just Give" on the right side of the page. On your donation make sure to put "Rescue Road Home" in your comments so we know you want to be in the drawing. You have until 5/5//07 to buy your raffle entry.
2. Print your confirmation page for your donation.
3. Send an email to me at Roxane@IHeartPaws.com saying you have made your donation and the amount. You will be entered once for every $10 donation. It will be cross-referenced with donations received by Road Home and your name put into "the hat"

The drawing will take place the beginning of June 2007 and the winner announced once they have been confirmed and accepted the winnings. The winner will received the certificate within one month of being confirmed.

(In the event Road Home Animal Rescue is unable to survive the period of this raffle for any reason, money donated after the rescue were to cease to exist, will be distributed to another 501-C3 non-profit, dedicated to saving the animal victims of domestic violence, based on greatest need and the raffle item will still be given away at the timeframe specified.)
