I don't need a list of Ottawa Dog Parks, I have that. I am looking for something a little more specific.
I would like to find area swimming holes where dogs are allowed, and dog walking parks that have picnic tables. If anyone knows of any please let me know.

how would you find that out? Is there say a national parks list, that says what ammendities are available (swimming, snack bar, summer camps, camping) and what is allowed (alcohol, cooking fires, dogs)
Is there usually signage at the park, or just parks that no one says anything at?

All parks in Ottawa are marked, either no dogs, dogs on leash, or off leash. I know many here from Ottawa go to several parks in the city. I am curious to find those parks that have picnic tables in the park as well as parks that allow swimming. I want to find the ones where they are allowed to swim like lemuire Island not the ones that dogs are not allowed that people just use anyway.

No parks officially allow dogs to swim in Ottawa.
However I brought Diego to the Arboretum to swim before, many times, no one seems to mind. Lissa also mentioned that Bruyeres(??) somewhere along Carleton U. has water. I regularly take Diego to swim in the YMCA/YWCA outdoor recreation center on Ridell (by Pinhey's Pointe). It's actually the Ottawa River. |
