What a week!

I have had the worst week!

First, I leave for Colorado at the butt crack of dawn on Tuesday morning for Hazel's appt at CSU, and find out she needs surgery so I have to stay a day longer than what I thought. Then Wednesday afternoon I got a call from my aunt saying that my son had been in a car wreck. When I call dh to find out about the kid, he tells me that my friend that was living with us just packed up and left on Tuesday, no note, no message, nothing, so he had no idea where she went. I had to take a sleeping pill on Wednesday night just so I could get some rest!

My son has been on blood thinners since early June, and he has been having problems getting dizzy and lightheaded. I guess that Wednesday afternoon he was going home, and was going across our overpass. He blacked out behind the wheel, went down an embankment and through a fence. The impact wasn't enough to delpoy the airbags, but he smacked his chest and face into the steering wheel - gave himself a fat lip and almost broke his nose. They took him to the hospital, but released him. His blood levels were way too thick, and he hadn't eaten anything at all that day because he didn't feel good. Thank god he wasn't driving his semi on the highway when it happened!

Found out when I got home last night that my friend called here yesterday and left a message saying that she moved in with a guy she's known for years. He is the one that I posted about that she spent all of last weekend with. I haven't called her. I am seriously pissed off and don't think that it would be wise to talk to her just yet or I may rip her a new one. I cannot believe that she just left here without leaving a note or anything! Dh was worried about her, her mom and older daughter have both called her looking for her.

Ok, so wow about your son, glad he's ok. That could have been so much worse had hen been in a semi on the highway, I don't even want to imagine.

I can't believe that your friend would do that, it's just so disrespectful to leave and not tell anyone where you are going. Not surprising though that she moved in with another guy. From what you have told us in the past, it was really only a matter of time. I think it is smart of you not to call her just yet. I would give yourself a few days or weeks even.

Oh, I know if I call her I will let her have it. I have been so frustrated trying to get through to her - dh had already asked me if this guy was going to be the next one she attached herself to. He said that on the message she said that she was fighting with her ex and just needed to get away. Yeah, right. I think she had this planned with him when she was there this last weekend, but didn't want to face me, so she left probably right after I did on Tuesday.

I am so sick of the care that my son has been receiving, and he's so 'non vocal' that my mom suggested I make him give me power of attorney for his medical care so that I can force him to go to a specialist, and then I can get all the test results and such. I am going to call him this morning (I'm waiting for him to get up, I know it's too early for him to be out of bed yet since he didn't work today) and then I'm going to make an appt with a different doctor for him. If he refuses to go, momma's wrath is going to come out in full force!

You really do have a full plate Kandy. I'd tell that girlfriend off... and rip her a new one... and stick my foot in her arse... I can keep going...

As for your son, can I ask a question? I've read a lot about how he's been feeling and what he's on, but i'm not quite sure if I fully understand what it wrong with him. Did they diagnose him with anything after the clot? Or they just stuck him on blood thinners (and known side effects are blacking out, dizziness, being lightheaded, you name it... but only if he's on the wrong dosage.). He needs to be on the RIGHT blood thinner for him, and they need to titrate it to the proper dose so that he receives the proper theraputic effect with the minimum amount of side effects. Is he on coumadin?

I don't know what to say... I just hope everything settles down in a good way soon. That's just so much to deal with all at once.

ohmigosh kandy, what a week! I'm very sorry that your son got into an accident, I'm glad all he walked away with is a fat lip though!

if you don't mind me asking how old is your friend? she sounds as if she's still in her teens, if she is, just let her grow up and she'll learn as she matures.

If she's not 16, oh dear god, she needs to grow up and act her age, whatever it is.

Angel - yes he is on Coumadin, but I don't know what dosage. And they have yet to get his blood levels where they need to be. After the wreck, they tested him and he was a 1.3 (I guess normal is 1.0, but he is supposed to be at about 2.4). Nothing else was diagnosed after the initial clots. No results from the "special" blood work, nothing. I called this morning and got him an appt for Tuesday morning with the newest internist here. Hopefully the guy won't have been here long enough to develop the assembly line attitude. My son has agreed to go and has also agreed that if we don't think this doctor has his crap together, then we'll go to Utah and see a doctor there.

LOL @ Mzzlyn! My friend is the same age as me - 43. Her oldest daughter is 23, and her younger daughter is 15.
