Default House sitting with some pretty kitties

I'm house sitting for a friend for 5 weeks and get to watch her two Bengal cats and thought I'd take some pics and introduce Rex and Daisy.

I'm trying to research some new food for them while their owner is gone, they're not on the best stuff right now and Rex has kidney problems.

Here they are...I'll post better photo's soon.

Very good looking cats!!! What foods are you thinking about??? For a cat with kidney problems I'd suggest doing a home cooked or raw diet. JMO. The more liquids the better!

I don't think that I can persuade a home cooked or raw diet for Rex, the owners don't have the time required to commit to a diet like that as far as I can tell. They're both being fed Science Diet but Daisy gets regular and Rex gets the low or no protein diet one. I'm sure that the SD was recommended by the vet, probably their office choice so hopefully I can find a good for them to switch to that their vet will approve. Maybe Orijen for Daisy and then I'm not sure what's out there for low or no protein foods, that's what I'm going to try and research over the next few weeks. If anyone has some suggestions I'm wide open to them

Daisy has such pretty eyes. They both look quite serious, do you know if they play much?

Its really good of you to try and get them on something better. I wish I knew what to suggest for Rex but "I" was just on the Medi-Cal in the past for kidney problems before had thought about alternatives.

They are pretty serious looking, that's a good way of describing them LOL!! And no they don't play together, we were told they fight but they haven't yet while we've been watching them, they tolerate each other most of the time and don't bother with one another. They perk up a bit when you start petting them but when you're just around them they don't care one way or another but that could just be because they're not used to us yet.

They look like they need some high potency catnip and stinky treats. I wonder if you could sort of do a kitty lifestyle makeover while thier owners are away.
