Default Look who's hiding under my hood ( snake pics enclosed)

I opened the hood on my Camaro to take a few pics of things under there for a prospective buyer... ( now i know what some of you may be thinking... Oh no here goes Erika on her WAY to honest selling tactics, but its a hard habbit to break, lol, that and I dont really want to sell this one! Its my dream car )

Anyways Im skimming under the hood and I came nose to nose with this sweetie... I guess s/he is trying to warm up a bit...

Oh, so i picked him or her up and took her down by the creek where there are many nice warm rocks and no threat of the doggies harming it.

Gardner snake or something like that, they're all over the place here. Very harmless, they help with the mouse and frog populations though... I dont like when they kill frogs, I like frogs as much as snakes.

You have nerves of steel, hun! I would have shrieked, slammed the hood down and probably severed the snake in four, run into the house, lock the door and change my underwear!! (no steve irwin here)

Aw, TD...it's cute! And snakes have a really lovely leathery feeling to them...

Wow, that's the biggest garter snake I've ever seen! Although the one that was boxing with Cole last summer at the garden wall was maybe 2/3 that size.

I put my hand by her head, and she "sniffed" me then I went in for the grab behind the head, I held her for about 10 mintues and walked her down by the creek, she's not safe here at all. My dogs have one heck of a prey drive ( all of them) and she would have been mauled to death.

Our dogs seem fascinated by the musky smell of Snake, but only Cole was too obnoxious with the one last year. He trapped it by the garden and it raised its head, boxed the good Sheriff roundly on the nose a few times, then went its merry way. Cole sat back, then cautiously escorted it as it slithered around the garden and passed under the fence. To this day, he's still trying to figure out how a head attached directly to a tail could have bopped him like that!

LOL, a head attached directly to a tail! I love it!

Snakes dont stand a chance with mine sadly... thats why I try to relocate as many as I can away from the dogs. Theyre more experienced with the headed tails than that!
