Default Pet fountain

Anyone have one, had one, use one now, or have any experience with one?

I found the dog it fountain last year and thought it was super cool, but an overpriced toy.. Cider is a freak and doesn't drink enough, so I over water her kibble daily to try to make sure she stays hydrated.. but after walks she doesn't always drink much even if she's been panting like mad, and it concerns me some. I have a bowl of water in my bedroom for extra access.. and she likes to drink more late at night than during the day (but I stay up stupid late hours) so Early morning potty breaks are fine..

I've found replacing her water with cold water from the fridge when I'd really like her to take a drink sometimes helps, but not always..

And was wondering if a pet fountain was worth it for keeping water fresh and cold? Sure my dad would flip if I bought one due to it being one more thing taking electricity, but whatever..

before you purchase that, have you tried ice cubes in a small bowl for her? Brina isn't a big drinker after our runs, but she will lick and chew on ice cubes.

I've never used the fountain, but you could also add some meat broth to her water. I used to cook beef bones from the butcher by putting them in some water in the microwave before giving them to Kayla (now I just give them raw) but I would pour the little bit of leftover water in her water dish and she would drink the entire thing up and lick the bowl after. Maybe you could make a bit of broth just for these times when she's exercising a lot and think she should be drinking more? You could even combine Melinda and my ideas and make broth ice cubes, and put them in her water dish to melt and flavour it

I used a pet fountain for a while. I am not sure if it would make her drink more - most pets seem to enjoy water that's been flowing but who knows!

I liked it but it really wasn't convenient the way out house is set up...I ended up giving it to a friend.

So I'm a loser when it comes to getting Cider stuff. Went to Petcetera an the dog it fountain was 24.93.. so I had to get one. FYI it is a *itch to get working right...
Now that it is it's fun. Dad's so unamused...
Not sure what Cider thinks yet..
I like that the food and water dishes aren't creepign across the floor the way even her no skid dishes used to..
I did find though, that I should have bought the Cat it fountain, because she is a small dog.. but whatever, I've got it now.

I had looked at those, but since newfs love, love, love to dig in water and generally make a huge mess with water - it was out of the question. We have to have spillproof bowls instead.

Oh, and my dogs love, love, love ice cubes!!! They think its a really neat treat and would eat tons of them if I let them.

I dig the spill proof bowls. She soaks the kitchen floor just by drinking. Took 3 days, but finally she's starting to lap it up.
Cider is hot and cold on ice cubes.. Either all over them, or picks it up, takes it to carpet and leaves it.. and you never notice till it melts..

We have a Cat It fountain, and honestly, its DOES look like more water is gone, but in truth - - Marty and Minou just play with the water that falls over the dome.

I don't think they are drinking anymore. . . . .

I'm not sure I like the fountain.. in future it may be in the freebie section for someone else to try,
I liek the idea of it, it just seems to be a bigger nuisance than needed..
