Default Introducing our newest family member

She's 5 years old, and sweet as can be! She came with the name Rascal, but we're thinking we'll change it...maybe
(Her original owners said she was a boy, but the rescue lady says she's a girl)
She's only in the small cage until I get her big cage put together tomorrow!

Thanks, thanks Thanks, guys! She is sooo gentle and acclimated within a day! I think I'm in love.

Mulder, not so fast! You may visit our sweet little chinnie anytime you like, but NO kidnapping!

AE, I hadn't even considered the possibility of a boyfriend! After all, she's just arrived.

Melinda, I am considering AE's idea, perhaps you could fill out a detailed questionaire about Timothy. You know, to see if they'd be compatible...his like, dislikes, family history, income, prospects, you know, all the pertinent chinnie info.

Seriously, she's wonderful! so far, Katie couldn't care less, and Greyla is stressed when R & I are both paying attention to "Rascal" (I still think she needs a name more suited to her personality), but she sniffed her without incident, while being praised for being such a good girl by momma. Rascal doesn't seem to give a hoot about the dogs, either, even when Greyla barked at her the day I brought her home.

Timothy
5 yrs old
cornwall ontario
combed weekly, very well groomed
my likes include, pine chews, rosehips, my leapnleges, my chin tube and new dust bathhouse, banana chips and of course the occasional raisin.
I love to have my ears cleaned and rubbed and will darn near turn my head 360 degree's to have my neck scratched all over
my dislikes like all chins is to have my tail stroked or my back end pet.
when I'm lonely I'll "call" my mom with my own unique noise, sort of a bark.
so, if you think i'm the boy for you, email me baby.....you're a real sweet pea....ummm could you make sure you're a girl first?

greysmom, one word of advice, you have to find out what sex it is, because if it's a male, you sorta kinda have to check his little woohoo a couple times a month, they get hair rings caught up around them and it could kill them, I'm lucky, in a way *L* Timothy cleans his own, but on the other hand, kinda embarassing if he's doing it in front of others, a pony has nothing on a male chin, and believe me, he sits up pretty while holding "it" and cleaning it with his teeth and tongue

LOL @ Timothy!
I'm thinking that making sure she's a she is tops on the list of Timothy's priorities!

Provided the rescue was correct, can you help me think of some appropriate girl names for my sweetie girl? R keeps calling he Chinky and I told him that doesn't even sound nice!

Next question: I have read pros & cons about hay baskets. Do I use one or not? If not, what do I do with her hay to make it accessible, but not a complete mess everywhere?

Thanks for the tip about chinnie penises, Melinda, that's something I hadn't read anywhere else. I haven't really wanted to stress her out by checking too much on her first couple of days here. Our Vet sees all kinds of critters, so do you recommend a vet check?
And after reading how they live in groups in the wild, I'm worried that she'll be lonely. Is that valid or just me being a worry wart?
