Default Nail Clipping

I have to do my two weekly. Sydney's nails grow so fast that they always click on the floor. I just cut them earlier this afternoon (as short as they can go without bleeding) and they are clicking again already.

How often do you have to cut your dogs nails?

You know it's weird Jordie is only done at the groomers every 11 weeks his seem to grow very slowly.

Blaze and Frodo are done about every 2-3 weeks, and they run and play outside laot more than Jord. All the boys don't mids which is nice, my brother has 3 boxers and they HATE it.

by the way , BeagleMom check your PM

I should do Marion's nails weekly... but in reality, they probably get done every 2-3 weeks. Her nails are way too long, and they're black so it's impossible to see where the quick ends. The quicks are already long to begin with (as she rarely-to-never had her nails clipped during the first 4 years of her life), so I can never trim her nails back as far as I want to. But I have to give her credit... she has become much better than she used to be about nail trims... only a minor amount of kicking and grumbling now... because she knows she always gets a big cookie at the end!

Gotta love concrete!

Maximus only gets his nails trimmed every month or so. Sometimes the vet uses the dremol or I cut them myself at home, but it takes a LONG time since Maximus insists on jumping around with a wiggle butt and giving kisses after EACH cut as if he's saying "I did it mom!! YAY!! It's over!!!... oh... another one?".

Greyla rarely needs her nails trimmed, I would say maye twice a year.
Katie, on the other hand, needs hers done about once every 4-6 weeks.

Hazel just got hers done at the groomer this weekend, but even the groomer commented that her nails were really short. Dh says that he trims them once every few weeks, but that generally hers stay short because she runs on concrete every day. Parker really needs his cut, but he freaks out if you come near him with the clippers. Malone's nails don't seem to grow very fast, he had them trimmed when he ripped the one nail and had to go to the vet - and that was a few months ago.

skadi's don't seem to grow fast either. her back ones stay really short and get worn down from concrete. her front ones get done every 4 weeks or so. they should be done a bit more often.

every couple of months - He will be all fine and then it is as if he develops talons overnight and we clickety-clack to the pet store for a clip. That is one of those things I don't want to learn how to do! It is only 5$ a clip where we go and I don't need to worry about cutting too close - let them deal with it!

Some dogs use their nails for traction.. Seems to be something they do more as they grow up. So you cut them, they don't click, and they figure out how much flexion of toes they have to do to get the traction you took away back.

I should do Cider's nails weekly, but I don't have time. It's more like every 3 and they are talons at that point. Even when we played fetch daily on pavement, and roller bladed on paved paths.. IT made absolutely no difference. They weren't getting filed down at all noticeably.
