Breed history of the Bullmastiff

The German shepherd dog is known to be one of the most beautiful and devoted dogs around today. With its toughness and nobility, the breed can sometimes, unfortunately, get judged unfairly; though despite that, it still remains one of the most popular breeds of dog around today.

The Vizsla is an amazing dog breed matching loyalty and stature with skill and grace. A well known breed in hunting circles, it is quickly finding it way into the home because of its loving nature.

The Doberman pinscher is an extremely popular dog today as it is an affectionate, intelligent and loyal pet.  This sleek, intense breed gets its name from the German tax collector who originated the breed - Louis Dobermann.  Developed in the 1860s, the Doberman is a mix of German pinchers, Greyhounds, English Greyhounds, Rottweilers and the Beauceron.

Alaskan Malamutes are one of the most unaltered of breeds; breeders and owners alike make sure to preserve the Malamutes working abilities. Alaskan Malamutes are known to be beautiful, intelligent, dignified and affectionate. Malamutes are often mistaken for wolves, but they are not wolves and are not part wolf.

Malamutes are adaptable dogs that can acclimate to their environment, but be mind full of where the dog is from and watch for signs of heat stress. Like any dog, Malamutes need a constant supply of water and shade.

The Brussels Griffon has an abundance of monikers, among which are the Griffon Bruxellois, Belgian Griffon, Petite Brabancon, and Griffon Belge. In Europe the Brussels Griffon (Griffon Bruxellois) is a reddish-pin in color and rough coated. The Belgain Griffon (Griffon Belge) is black, black and tan, or red and is also rough coated.

The Newfoundland is one of the few dogs native to North America. There are three schools of thought on the origin of the breed. The first is that newfies descended from the large, black "bear dogs" introduced by the Vikings in 1001 A.D. By the time that colonization was permitted in 1610, the distinct physical characteristics and mental attributes had been established in the breed.
