Hey! I am Miss Houdini’s Apple Cider. You can call me Cider though. I got my name because of my color, and I like to escape a lot. I want to be with people! I’m an American Cocker Spaniel and I look a little bit field bred. Either way I came from a pet store though. My Mommy’s roommate bought me, and then tried to put me in the pound a few months later because she wanted an easier life when she moved home. I’ll be three years old in September.

That’s okay, Mom always wanted a dog, so she took me home. It’s been a lot of learning for her and me. Lot of things she thinks are normal now were pretty weird at first. She no longer finds dog show people snobby, and we became sports dog people together. We take agility class once a week, and our first trial is soon. Last month we won 1st place and 3rd place at a Rally Obedience trial. One more scoring win and we’ll have a title not that that was the important part, but damn it’s cool!

I like to romp in the park, and when I find bunnies in the neighborhood I go wild. Mommy makes me come to her though, doesn’t want me to chase them and get lost. She doesn’t think I could actually catch one. I race out the backdoor everyday to remind the squirrels it’s MY backyard and they better remember that. I don’t like water. I’d rather drink from my baby pool than get in it. Yuck. Mommy makes me swim with her sometimes in the big people pool, it’s not so bad though she plays with me the whole time. Thinks we should try dock diving. If she wants to do it so badly, I’ll sit on the dock and she can jump off into the water.

Mommy still wants to get me a baby cocker brother. And we are still working on it. She’s not so sure though because I didn’t like sharing and playing with the stinky foster boy she brought home. What was she thinking? He ate yucky food, and was a terrier! Yuck... Come on Mom!

Mom says I have to stop typing so we can go and play in the park. Thank you for voting for me, I am very very flattered.
