I Heart Paws May 2008 POM- Stacer's Skylar
Hello, my name is Skylar. I’m a young Rottweiler mix. I recently fell into some really good luck. I was found by a very caring lady and her husband; they saved me from certain death and nursed me back to health. Then my new Mom and Dad saw my story and knew they had to have me. I’ve had it so good these past few months I don’t even remember what my life was like before.
I’m a friendly girl; I love humans, kids especially. I’ll ask for pets from anyone if they look nice. My favourite part of the day is when Mom comes home from work. I get so excited that when I wiggle my bum almost hits my head.
Since I really have no history to tell, I’ll let you in on the future. It’s going to be filled with lots of love and lots of fun. My parents like the great outdoors, so I think I’m going to get a lot of camping and hiking trips under my belt…er, harness in the coming years. I also think that a training class or two is in my very near future. I think I’m perfect, but apparently Mom and Dad think I have a few things I need to work on.
I’ve got a feline brother and sister who I’m not quite getting along with yet. They’re still a bit scared of me because I’m so big and I have a loud bark. When they move fast I can’t help myself, I want to go play with them. I’m trying hard to work on it so that they won’t be scared anymore.
Some of my favourite things to do include going to the dog park, I love running free and chasing other dogs. I always make sure that Mom and Dad are still there with frequent visits to where they’re sitting. I also love lying on the sofa with Dad, if he’s watching TV I can get him to rub my tummy forever and he doesn’t even realize it! I’m not really into toys; I prefer to play with people. But this past week I really started to see how fun toys can be, and tug of war with a stuffy is quite exhilarating! I also love squirrels, so much so, that when I see one I can hardly contain myself.
That’s my life so far, thanks for reading my story.
Thanks for voting me Pet of the Month!!
