When I was first asked to join the new forum I was excited, excited about something new and fresh a place to come and tell everyone reading my posts that I love my pets!! I wake up every morning and watch them in wonder as they play around so pleased to see Mommy awake, the look they give me when I cuddle them and tell them I love them, and the sparkle they get when I give them their favorite toy and tell them how good they are.

My feelings on I Heart Paws

When I was first asked to join the new forum I was excited, excited about something new and fresh a place to come and tell everyone reading my posts that I love my pets!! I wake up every morning and watch them in wonder as they play around so pleased to see Mommy awake, the look they give me when I cuddle them and tell them I love them, and the sparkle they get when I give them their favorite toy and tell them how good they are.

I think that everyone would agree that you would die for your pets. Whether it's a dog, cat, goldfish or ant farm we love them nonetheless and would do anything to prevent harm coming to them.

I still remember bringing my puppy home, I had saved him from probably an awful life and as his six week old body shivered next to mine on the way home I whispered to him that I would never ever let harm come to him, and I would protect him with my life and give him the best life I could. I still hold that promise dear to my heart and to his and as I have watched him grow and become the beautiful boy he is now I still look at him as the scared little puppy he was back then. My pets are like my children and I protect them like a mother does her real children.

When my siblings and I were children growing up we would sometimes get parents of other kids who we had supposedly got into scraps with, or neighbors who's windows we maybe had broken coming to my mothers front door and screaming blue murder to my Mom about us. However my mother would hear none of it, she defended us to the death and would swear blind that we were innocent. My mother protected us like only a mother can.

I often liken this to the banning of Pit Bulls and other such breeds that are now given a bad name for a few bad apples. The owners of these pit bulls, the Mommies and Daddies who probably held them close as puppies and promised them that fear would never come to them want to defend their babies to the death. They want to show society that the governments and organizations rallying around this petition are wrong and that their babies are innocent.

For people who own the breeds that have been segregated it's a bitter struggle every day for them to keep defending their precious babies their children who have never shown signs of aggression. Or for people who haven't quite got a handle on the training of their animals, or who are experiencing troubles.

I think that we can all agree that we love our animal, that's why we are here. But we are also here to pass our knowledge as animal owners onto other inexperienced owners. People that are here all have the same wish for their pets to have the best life possible and often show their love and devotion by joining such a site to seek the help that they need.

However we are not here to pass judgment, to look down or ridicule someone for their inexperience, or to tell these people that they shouldn't have certain pets, or breeds. Because like a mother they will defend to the death.

Before posting on a thread that you do not agree with and giving your opinion maybe we should all think about what it would feel like if the negative reply was aimed at us and how we would feel for our babies if they were being verbally attacked.

As my grandmother once said;If you don't have anything good to say don't say anything at all.
